The Story Behind House of Dynasty

House of Dynasty began in the kitchen of Dynasty Restaurant. Anika and her family who are Hong Kong natives, have been sharing the flavours of home for half a decade.

Frustrated by how Chinese food in the UK had lost its roots, Anika is on a mission to bring authentic dried ingredients back to British kitchens.

🏮Try one of our favourite recipes! Fresh Chicken, Chinese Yam & Wolfberry Soup (鮮雞淮山杞子圓肉湯)

  • 1 whole fresh chicken (about 1 kg)
  • On Kee Natural Yam (淮山) – appropriate amount
  • On Kee Chinese Wolfberry (杞子) – appropriate amount
  • On Kee Dried Longan (圓肉) – appropriate amount
  • A few slices of fresh ginger (to remove any odour)
  • A splash of rice wine (optional, for aroma)
  • 1500–1800 ml water
  • Salt to taste

In a pot, add the fresh chicken, ginger slices and a splash of rice wine. Blanch briefly to remove any blood and impurities, then rinse and set aside.

Wash the Chinese Yam, Wolfberries and Dried Longan thoroughly.

Place the chicken, herbs and ginger slices into a large soup pot.

Add 1500–1800 ml of water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low and simmer for 1.5–2 hours.

Add salt to taste before serving. Enjoy warm for best nourishment and flavour.
